Saskatchewan Artist
I Love a Rainy Night - 2013 - by Jane Kerr
Jane Kerr
Jane Kerr was born in 1952 in Weyburn, Saskatchewan.
Although pursuing a career in nursing in the Wayburn area, Kerr painted with dedication since childhood, and won several regional competitions.
Kerr also attended workshops with notable Saskatchewan artists such as Wilfred Perreault, Marsha Delouchery, Eltje Degenhart, Michael Lonechild, Val Moker and David Butt.
Her work was also selected for several juried shows, including those of the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils, Arts Saskatchewan (MacKenzie Art Gallery) and the Saskatchewan National History Society. Two works were published in the book “Words on the Wing.”
Kerr’s work had been focused primarily on wildlife and the prairie landscape, but in 2010 Kerr retired from nursing and moved to Regina, and her work has become more focused on the excitement and atmosphere of the city, especially in nighttime scenes.
Jane Kerr lives and works in Regina, Saskatchewan, and is a member of the Art Gallery of Regina and is on the executive for the Prairie Artists Guild of Regina.
Artworks by Jane Kerr are currently available for purchase in NAC’s online NACmarket.
