In 1921 this property became the family home of William and Fanny Landa. William Landa was a carriage maker who immigrated from Russia and established the Landa Carriage Works that eventually became the Landa Auto Body Works. Now designated as a municipal heritage property, the home located at 202 Avenue E South has cultural and historical significance in the community because the Landas were among the first Jewish immigrants to settle in the city as well as the Prairie Vernacular architectural style of this home.
